CHRISTMAS WAS WONDERFUL!

It was a GREAT Christmas. First of all I prayed that it would snow on Christmas day. Now I didn't mean for it to snow as much as it did, but I LOVED it!

Scott went above and beyond this year for my gift. He wrapped up five different gifts and numbered them in the order I was suppose to open them. The first one told me that it wasn't the zoom lens I wanted for my camera.

The second one told me that it wasn't the curio cabinet that I had been asking for. I got to the fifth one and WOW! Yes, it was 5 tickets to Wicked!!!!

He got up at 4:00 one morning and went and stood in line for 6 hours to get me this gift. Now that is love!

What was so funny is that the day after he did this, I told him that I saw on the news that Wicked was coming and that people had slept out on the sidewalk for two nights and that it was sold out in 3 1/2 hours. I didn't even know it was coming to Utah and I told him how very disappointed I was because now there wasn't any hope of getting tickets. He just played dumb and asked me what Wicked was anyway?

The next best gift was the great necklace I got from Christine and Jason. Christine special ordered it and it has a place for me to put all my kids and grandkid's photos in it. It is so beautiful. Christine has one similar to this and I have been coveting it ever since she got it. She knew exactly what I wanted.

And just when I thought it couldn't get any better I got this wonderful gift from Carter and Easton. It is a beautiful necklace and ring set. Christine told me that Carter picked it out himself. She told me that she had picked out another one and that he insisted that she buy the one they gave me. He kept telling her that he liked this one. How special is that?

Last but not least, I got this great key chain from Christine. I have been wanting one of these ever since I saw hers. I was going to get one the next time I went to Disneyland. (Which was suppose to be earlier this month but the mono did away with that trip.) I was so excited to finally get one!

HOORAY FOR THE SNOW!

I thought Scott was going to go crazy not being able to use his new snow blower he got this year. Men and their toys!

It was so funny how we ended up with this humongous machine. Since Daniel is not with us anymore we are minus a snow shoveler. Jason is at work so much and I am useless with my back so he decided that he needed a snow blower this year. He checked KSL.com for several weeks and came upon this one that was advertised. It was bought at the end of the season last year and had not even been used. The guy was moving to California and so he had to sell it. The price was a steal! If you have seen our house you know that we do not have that much cement to clear so I was picturing a middle of the road type of machine. It was not what I had planned on spending some money on especially with Christmas coming up, but I could tell it was important to him so we went and checked it out. I waited in the car while he went and haggled with the guy and got him down another $50.00. He came back to the car a little disappointed and told me it was not quite the machine he wanted. He was hoping to get one that was a step up from what this one was. (All this time I am picturing this middle sized machine.) I told him it was a good price and that we couldn't really afford anymore so he gave in and went and bought it. As he and the guy are wheeling it out to the car I look and could not believe my eyes!!! This thing was HUGE! What was he thinking?

Well it was worth it to see the joy on his face as he blew the first snow off our cement last Saturday. He had a blast and came in bouncing off the walls telling me how awesome this machine works, etc., etc.. Hooray for snow!

WALKER CHRISTMAS PARTY (Adults Only)

Scott's siblings had a Christmas/Birthday party for Scott last week. Scott and I cooked the prime rib and the rest of them brought the rest of the meal, it was delicious. They toasted and roasted Scott and then we did a gift exchange. As usual I ended up with the Reno air show gift and Scott got a beautiful quilt. So we exchanged our gifts and have enjoyed them.

It was a nice evening with his brothers and sister and their spouses. The most touching gift of the night was Scott's brother Val went up and cut down the oldest apricot tree in the orchard. The tree was well over 100 years old and was planted by their grandfather. He then made each of them pens out of the wood. I thought that was very special, especially since their father just recently passed away.

BIRTHDAYS

Well it's official, I am married to an old man and my baby is no longer a child he is an adult. Where did the time go?

On the 9th Scott and Jason celebrated their birthdays. Scott is 50 and Jason is 18. It was a quiet day due to my health, but I think they had a good day.

Jason celebrated by going snowboarding that day and having two of his friends end up at the emergency room. Scott celebrated by dealing with a sexual harassment case at work. Do they know how to have fun or what?

I am grateful for these two wonderful men in my life! Jason has brought me 18 years of joy and Scott, well there are just not words to describe my feeling for this great man.

THANKSGIVING FEAST

Thanksgiving was a little different this year. It was the first time that all my children have not been with me for a holiday. Daniel was very much missed. I missed him hovering over me in the kitchen and salivating all over everything as he anxiously awaited the feast. Of course I didn't cook much this year, which was very different from any other Thanksgiving. Since I have Mono I barely had enough energy to get the pies made that I was assigned to bring, and even then I had to have Scott's help to finish them up.

Thanksgiving day was a beautiful day. Unfortunately by the time I got ready and got up to my parent's for the dinner I was so sick that the food didn't taste all that good. I'm sure it was wonderful though!

It was fun to see my nephew's and my niece and her new husband whom I don't get to see all that often any more. And as always it is always an honor and a privilege to share a holiday with my Nana who is 97 years old. I asked her if she ever thought she would be around to celebrate 97 Thanksgivings. She told me she had hoped she wouldn't be around for this one. Not that she isn't happy, she is just ready to go home (in heaven).

My mother made us all these turkeys which were made out of kiwis and the tails were some shells she brought home from her trip to New Zealand. She was so proud of these turkeys and threatened any of us that if we ate the kiwis while we were there she would break down and cry.

All in all it was a beautiful day.
